I absolutely love the opening for this book!

An Alex Craft Novel Series

The USA Today bestselling author of Grave Memory and Grave Dance returns with her bewitching heroine Alex Craft in a new novel of twisting urban fantasy where the secrets of the dead can wreak havoc on the living.

I have a few quibbles after re-reading, which I share with other reviewers. I liked the world it was set in and Kalaayna is in an interesting and un-annoying main character. Our main lady Alex Craft well thought up name at least is pretty likable and possesses a good mix of sass and sense.

Grave witch Alex Craft is no stranger to the dead talking.

I winced over some of her life choices–the one night stands being chief among them–but that never kept me from liking her. A building attraction to Death and the introduction of male lead Falin should satisfy paranormal romance fans, leading to a ex grav near the end.

She’s had this gift since she was a child so a normal Also, it seems surprising that all these women were targeted were feykin, wiitch no one was able to recognize that except Falin. She raises shades, works with ghosts, and is dating Death himself.

While the author leaves it to be seen what will develop between Alex and Death, in the few scenes Death was in, he seemed laid-back type of guy with a lot of secrets and he gravd pretty hot. Dec 14, Devann rated it liked it Shelves: Especially with that ending!

I guess most who read this one love the format, and those who read it and don’t might be a bit daft to read a genre they are overly familiar with the formula of whoops.

I’m not sure if I liked that or not, but I’m willing to hang for the ride and wait to see where the author’s going. I liked how in this world their is a price to having magic. As a consultant for the police, she’s seen a lot of dark magic, but nothing has prepared her for her latest case. The first being the tired old line of parents keeping dangerous secrets from their children. There were two potential love interests introduced in the book, but I pray the author isn’t turning this into another lame love-triangle.

First of all, she’s cursed. Plenty of sexual humor and some minor dark themes. Maybe I’m a bit jaded on the genre, I was quite surprised to see this book rated very highly, without a few dud star ratings. Amazon Audible Tantor Audio iTunes. The biggest of which was Alex, herself.

She lives in a world where everyone knows about magic and the fae. Lots of deaths and bloody crazy things. People out right pgice her.

Not to mention sinking into Alex, she’s a great character and I enjoy that she’s unique from other Urban Fantasy character even after all these years. If people turn their back on you, you don’t jump up to help them move up the career ladder.

With her love life in turmoil, Alex is eager for the distractions of work. Other Series By Kalayna Price.

The world is fantastic, and I can’t wait to know Nekro city more! I loved the story, and there were many side characters that could have been developed, but weren’t. To solve this case Alex will have to team up with tough homicide detective Falin Andrews. She talks to herself because she spends too much time alone, which is a hard habit to break when she’s temporarily stuck rooming with another person.
