Hi folks! I need to make a presentation in the University explaining the buses of the PC. I was wondering if someone in forums knows good. On PCs, the old ISA bus is being replaced by faster buses such as PCI. ISA. Micro Channel (MCA). EISA. VESA Local bus (VL-bus). PCI Local bus. AGP. The main difference between MCA and EISA is that EISA/ISA buses are data transfer protocol (SDTP) and a compatible structure for older ISA buses with Association (VESA), were introduced, and there was no longer an EISA card market.

This is a great resource. Computers have two major types of buses: By the mids, the two slot types were roughly balanced, and ISA slots soon were in the minority of consumer systems. The History of USB In a collaborative effort to design a standard for peripheral devices was made between Compaq. In lateeven floppy disk drives protoocls serial ports were disappearing, and the extinction of vestigial ISA by then the LPC bus from chipsets was on the horizon.
We partner with Say Media to deliver ad campaigns on our sites. It is marketed to industrial and military users who have invested in expensive specialized ISA bus adaptors, which are not available in PCI bus versions. I am glad you liked vwsa. The earliest versions of the ATA standard featured a few simple protocols and a basic command set comparable to the command sets of MFM and RLL controllers which preceded ATA controllersbut the latest ATA standards have much more complex protocols and instruction sets that include optional commands and protocols providing such advanced optional-use features as sizable hidden system storage areas, password security locking, and programmable issa translation.
I built a computer last year, but prior to that, it was over 5 years ago. God bless the author. I will surely incorporate the latest technology.
First released inthe original USB 1. Thanks Oluwasegun for reading and commenting on this hub. AGP connector is identified by its brown colour. Has plug and play PnP characteristics Has the ability to function with a bit data bus. Bus Structures Excerpted from 1. Thanks AMD Radeon for your views.
PCI supports both bit and bit data width; it is compatible with s and Pentiums.

Bus Terminologies Computers pdotocols two major types of buses: Short for Small Computer System Interface, a parallel interface standard used by Apple Macintosh computers, PC’s and Unix systems for attaching peripheral devices to a computer. Most common application for EISA bus is as a disk controller or as a video graphics adapter. Users of ISA-based machines had to know special information about the hardware they were adding to the system.
The need for high quality and very fast performance of video on computers led to development veaa the Accelerated Graphics Port AGP. Expansion Bus Types These are some of the common expansion bus types that have ever been used in computers: I am very pleased to learn about computer buses.
