We just had a different person as the hero. Last but not least: Ghost Brigades starts a new story after the events of Old Man’s War. The characters are not particularly complex but they tend to be sympathetic and likable.

The plot was constructed well; pacing was good; there was a good balance of action and down time. I’m looking forward to reading The Last Colony, and I hope that it’s a similar deal in that, too.

The Ghost Brigades

Lock In Unlocked: The Ghost Brigades takes place sometime after the events of Old Man’s WarI am not sure how much time has elapsed as this book features almost all new characters, except Jane Sagan. This isn’t the most surprising or frightening part. It’s that they know no other means to get what they want. There are a couple of hooks that ensure I’ll be continuing with the next book in the series. They came out a few years before you filmed Avatar.

But in the end, it’s not really important if Sclzi choose to give it 4 or 5 stars, it’s more important that I’m able to make this choice in the first place.
