Datasets available 2 April: The aim of this competition is to find rkbust best system able to read single words that have been extracted from natural scenes. For this purpose, they are partitioned into two subsets: The competition 22003 organized around challenges that represent specific application domains for robust reading. This entails both locating the text in the image in terms of bounding boxes of individual words and recognising the containing text.
The aim of the Robust Reading Competition is to find the best system able to read complete words in camera captured scenes.
More information about each challenge is provided in their respective pages: Registration of interest 5 March: The challenges introduced for the edition are summarized in the following figure: The aim of this competition is to find the best system able to classify single characters that have been extracted from natural scenes.
Trial datasets serve two purposes. Use Icdag to train or tune your algorithms, then quote results on TrialTest. Each challenge is set up around different tasks.
Sample datasets are provided to give you a quick impression of the data, and also to allow function testing of your software. Robust Reading robuts at the meeting point between camera based document analysis and scene interpretation, and serves as common ground between the document analysis community and the wider computer vision community.
Introduction – ICDAR RobustReading Competition
The challenges introduced for the edition are summarized in the following figure:. This page is editable only by TC11 Officers. Typically Robust Reading is linked to the detection and recognition of textual information in scene images, but in the wider sense it refers to techniques and methodologies that have been developed specifically for text containers other than scanned paper documents, and include born-digital images and videos to mention a few. Retrieved from ” http: Each dataset is provided as a zip file, and contains a set of JPEG images of single characters and an XML tag file containing the ground truth character classes.
The datasets used for the final performance evaluation are not available for any of the competitions.
These tasks were organised in a closed mode, readung that the participants had to submit an operational version of their system for independent testing. Challenges are selected to cover a wide range of real-world situations. Four independent competitions were organised: That is, you can run tests on the sample data to check that your software works with the data, but the results won’t mean much.
