Considering that most of this book was poorly presented and mongaj weak, I will choose to defer to the other sources. Hgpnobirthing wish her book was more like that trusting place she describes, a place where women can go to feel hope and good about themselves, no matter how their deliveries go, where they can tap into their own maternal power.
My baby was posterior, which I was taught during Bradley would be accompanied by painful back labor. I believe in relaxation. The rest of Mongan’s book encourages you to listen to your body’s signals telling you what to do; gree should your urge to push be any different?
I am looking for this book in Austria I need it in English but, having a hard time finding it or getting it to me soon! Visualization helped get me through labor a little, but not a whole lot – the breathing exercises I learned elsewhere were MUCH more helpful.

As a result of the amazing impact this book and programme had on my daughter’s birth gas and air, not particularly painfulin fact, just today I started a course to teach HB. Your doctor and midwife are there to do that. Ditto for the visualizations and breathing techniques she seems to gloss over. There are few references in the book, and the majority of the citations at the end are references to other books rather than to scholarly works.

Here’s the problem, Mongan makes some generalized statements about “simple” women and “African” women that really put me off. Turns out – they messed it all up bad.

Some of the visualization techniques suggested seem kind of hokie to me like imagining yourself floating on a “strawberry cloud,” or that your uterine muscles are flowing “blue satin ribbons”but I’m sure that kind of visualizations work for some people. In this book you’ll find answers to virtually every question you have on breastfeeding, including topics such as: Suzy Ashworth Narrated by: It often states that your birthing companion will guide methor with prompts, but you won’t find those in the book.
There is way too much fear surrounding birth, especially for new moms, and she gives strategies for being prepared physically, emotionally and spiritually for birth. I also agree tha First of all, there are good things in this book.
A dear friend – who had been there herself – wrote to tell her that she would get through this. The way these things were described by the author are consistent with what I experienced.
My baby was not brought into the world through hypno-birthing, but she is perfect all the same. That seems like complete crap to me since the urge to push during the pushing stage is discussed at length in every other book I’ve read without doubt or discredit save a mention that some women feel more of an urge than others.
