I understand that the point of this book is to martih the line between reality and fantasy, which I did enjoy, I just think a reason why I was a little more lost It’s not that this was a bad book or anything, but margin was difficult to follow.
What made it hard for me to get into the book was a certain lack of gentleness in the passage matin a flashback and real life and vice versa, a passage that should run smoothly, seamlessly, and instead doesn’t: I also bought this online so I thought I should finish reading this even without understanding half of it.
It’s just that this book won the Spanish National Prize for Literature in and it’s a book so I tried to like it. Stay away from it.

I think in a lot of ways I far would have preferred a more conventional narrative about life under Franco and how war affects a child, because I think it was the novelty of that subject that I enjoyed most.
