I am also a stepmother, and my DH’s ex is a lot like Shelley – used the children for personal gain, vindictive, hateful and spiteful. New businesses are opening, new people are moving into the town and locals are taking risks on lifelong dreams. Bob and Merrily are having a rough time after giving up the toddler Merrily saved from abusive parents to authorities.

To make matters even more complicated, Margaret is pregnant too. It’s occupants and the problems they have, make for a good read. I think my dislike stemmed from the Axel subplot and the handling of Shelley’s pregnancy. Regardless of what her friends and family say, and despite all the rumors, Margaret wants Matt anyway. Debbie Dakita books are always sweet and nice and easy to read, easy to enjoy.

Debbie Macomber always does a great job tying up the stories of the character while also making you wish there were more stories. That being said, I did like “visiting” Buffalo Valley again.

Buffalo Valley resenbles many places in my family’s history, and perhaps in yours. This is not earth shattering fiction, just nacomber and fun.

Fans are certain to take to the Dakota series as they would to cotton candy at a state fair. Another great read by Debbie Macomber! The individual stories of Buffalo Valley, North Dakota are woven into a memorable tapestry of people tied to the land through farming and ranching while struggling to keep the small community alive. Refresh and try again. The main story in this one is the mannish rancher’s daughter finally gets married, though they guy wasn’t ‘in love’ with her at the maomber, and he just got out of a relationship with a conniving woman who wanted him to marry the rich ranch daughter, then divorce her so she could marry him I felt like their story line was pretty much finished before the book was halfway done, and there were just little tidbits about them later that were neatly wrapped up.
