Chinweizu’s own advocacy of a traditionalist cultural revival scarcely sounds like expansive freedom for the African population, but his polemics against the “”glorified slaves”” of the new middle class are geared to peg the book as forward-moving. I don’t think I’ll finish this book. Material progress at the cost of the degradation of the interconnected communities of life is not desirable. This book, as so many, fails to chknweizu that concern.
