Again, the ending for this part of the book was too “neat and tidy” to align with my personal experience. Just a moment while we sign you in to your Goodreads account. It seems like everyone drank schizophrenic-bipolar juice, maxomber was down with a case of the crazies. I usually like Debbie Macomber, but this series was so flat the WHOLE town was made up of women who could do no wrong and men who could do no right!


The narrator whispers too much for effect. Sheryl still thinks she can get Matt to leave Margaret, but is wrong. Calla is a 17 year old spoiled brat who thinks her father is perfect and she picks fights with mom and refuses to accept her mom’s new boyfriend.

You’ll probably ejoy it more if you read th first two books alwsys the trilogy first. I also know that the strain on the marriage would have been nearly unbearable once the baby was on debbiw EOW schedule and the women were interacting which would be inevitable.

I am also a stepmother, and my DH’s ex is a lot like Shelley – used the children for personal aalways, vindictive, hateful and spiteful.

The real virtue of this narrative lies in Macomber’s earnest portrayal of the people who inhabit this delightful town.
