It felt, for lack of a better word, rushed. I don’t remember the first book in the series being this way; but then again I’m surprised to see some merceces are written perfectly and flow beautifully. The formatting and style are vastly different which makes the plot and characters seem drab and flat.

As the titles of the books suggest, emphasis is laid on the importance and consequences of oaths in at least one story from each book.

She concentrates on how her worlds are organized, what colors the dragons are and how the young people feel about each mercedess. The ideas of tombs and hieroglyphics really make that stand out. All in all, a good book. Well, anyways, the story is okay, a little less entertaining than the first Dragon Jouster book.
