One of my friends was deeply into the cause, and, some years ago, ran a film night at Adelaide’s Mercury Cinemas, to raise money to help their legal battles. The word “magick” is found on almost every page and there Having followed the story of the West Memphis Three for many years I was interested in reading Echols own words and learning more about his life firsthand. This autobiography is appropriately titled Volume One. Read this book and know the truth about him.

He really has a writing talent. But whatever else this book is, it’s not an easy read. Our ages weren’t very far apart, Ia little older, in my early 20’s at the time, when memories of my teenage years were still fresh There are a few who still believe that Damien is a devil-worshipping child killer, but as time passes and more facts rise to the surface, it becomes even more clear that he is the victim of a peculiar species of hysteria.

I can’t wait to read his next book, Life After Death, which will be released next month. I cannot wait tor read wlmost and see the upcoming Hollywood movie and Peter Jackson documentary. Refresh and try again.

I fear that he may now look back at this book with some of the same feelings he has about his teenage journals. The notion of death row and wrongly being sent to itbeing from a country that doesn’t participate in capital punishment, creates further disbelief and disgust. The kids I ran with were the long haired, black t shirt wearing, heavy metal listening”different” kids who expressed echola in their appearance There are no dakien topics on this book yet.

Damien Echols was convicted of murder by a jury and sentenced to death by lethal injection. There’s something about getting to know someone so intimately you almost feel like you are that person for a while and yet you have never met them.
